Members of the South Bend Symphony play for guests of St. Margaret's House
On April 28, 2010 5 members of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra came to St. Margaret’s House through the Symphony to Go program. The string ensemble played a wide variety of pieces from around the world including tangos, Hungarian folk songs, and Russian gypsy music. The performers introduced their instruments to the ladies, showing the range and capabilities of the violin, viola, cello, and bass and answered questions about the instruments and pieces that they were playing. The ensemble played a stirring arrangement of “Amazing Grace” that brought many of the women to tears. St. Margaret’s House sends a hearty “Bravo!” and thank you to the South Bend Symphony Orchestra for bringing their beautiful music to our ladies ears!
